Frankfurt (Oder) Prepares for Defusal of 250-Kilogram WWII Bomb

A 250-kilogram World War II-era fragmentation bomb was discovered during construction in Frankfurt (Oder).
Authorities will begin evacuating approximately 2,250 residents from the affected area starting at 7:00 AM on April 2, 2025.
The defusal operation is scheduled to commence at 8:00 AM, with no immediate danger reported by city officials.
The evacuation zone includes residential buildings, a medical center, supermarkets, the Kleist Forum theater, and a multi-generational house.
Evacuated residents will be provided temporary accommodations at the Brandenburg-Halle during the operation.
