Overview

• Mill died at 2:30 a.m. on August 5 in Essen from complications of a heart attack suffered in late May.
• He collapsed at Milan Malpensa Airport and was resuscitated after several minutes of clinical death before being airlifted and placed in an induced coma.
• The 67-year-old forward won bronze at the 1988 Olympics and was part of West Germany’s 1990 World Cup–winning squad, earning 17 national caps.
