Frank Grillo stars as Rick Flag Sr. in the animated 'Creature Commandos,' the first project in James Gunn's revamped DC Universe, now streaming on Max.
Grillo's character will transition to live-action, with confirmed appearances in the second season of 'Peacemaker' and the upcoming 'Superman' movie in 2025.
The show brings together a team of unconventional heroes, including Frankenstein and The Bride, and features a voice cast that includes Viola Davis, David Harbour, and Maria Bakalova.
Grillo credits James Gunn for creating a morally complex role and providing all scripts upfront, allowing him to deeply develop his character across projects.
In addition to his DC work, Grillo is promoting the theatrical release of the horror film 'Werewolves' and is in talks for future seasons of 'Tulsa King' alongside Sylvester Stallone.
