Overview
- Seventeen of the 100 designated high-risk traffickers arrived at Vendin-le-Vieil on July 22 as part of a rollout targeting 100 inmates by July 31.
- Transfers were conducted under ultra-high security with GIGN and ERIS intervention teams, CRS support, drone surveillance and specialized escort convoys.
- Facilities have been upgraded with reinforced cells, millimeter-wave scanners, caillebotis on windows and hygiaphone-only visiting booths to enforce the isolation regime.
- Mohamed Amra’s relocation has been postponed beyond the initial convoy and will be processed in a later transfer wave.
- A second high-security quarter at Condé-sur-Sarthe is scheduled to open in mid-October to house 100 more traffickers under the same strict conditions.
