Overview

• An arrêté dated October 6 reinstates a 40% discount cap on generics until December 31, 2025, with a possible extension, taking effect on October 8.
• From January 1, 2026, the ceiling for generics and certain specialties is set at 30% on a transitional basis.
• The earlier plan to impose a single 20% cap for all medicines in 2027 has been dropped.
• A 15% ceiling for biosimilars is maintained to encourage use of substitutable biosimilar medicines.
