France Launches Dual Covid-19 and Flu Vaccination Campaign

The campaign targets over 17 million at-risk individuals to mitigate severe cases and reduce healthcare pressure.

The vaccination campaign, which began on October 15, aims to protect against both Covid-19 and the flu, particularly for those over 65 and other high-risk groups.
Vaccinations are available across France, including pharmacies and healthcare facilities, with both vaccines recommended to be administered simultaneously.
Despite the push, only about 50% of eligible individuals intend to get vaccinated, falling short of the 75% target set by health authorities.
The Covid-19 vaccine used is the Pfizer/BioNTech Comirnaty JN1, adapted to the current variant, while flu vaccines are based on circulating virus strains.
The campaign is fully covered for at-risk populations, aiming to counteract declining vaccination rates and post-pandemic fatigue.
