Overview
- The Bordeaux prosecutor reported an exponential rise in land-based cocaine trafficking after customs found 772 kg hidden in a Spain-to-France lorry stopped on the A63 at Anglet.
- That same night, customs seized 608 kg of cannabis in a similarly modified trailer on the N10 in the Vienne, with both trucks linked to the same criminal organisation and two Moroccan drivers indicted and remanded.
- At Le Havre on 23 September, six suspects including two dockers were arrested and about 64 kg of cocaine was recovered from a truck and a container following a customs intelligence tip, with BRI and Ofast’s GAO conducting the takedown.
- In a separate case, Ofast intercepted a two-vehicle convoy at Biarritz on 22 September carrying 600 kg of cannabis bound for Pas-de-Calais, leading to three arrests and court proceedings led by the Béthune prosecutor.
- National figures show 53.5 tonnes of cocaine seized in 2024, up 130% year over year, with nearly 1,800 kg already intercepted in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in 2025 as Ofast, customs, JIRS and DCOS coordinate wider crackdowns.
