France Earmarks €130 Million To Roll Out ‘Maisons France Santé’ Labels

The initiative seeks to shore up local access to GPs in underserved areas through fast accreditation of existing clinics.

Overview

  • An amendment to the 2026 Social Security finance bill will provide €130 million to launch the labeling program.
  • Each accredited site will receive a one-off €50,000 payment that can fund renovations, hire support staff, or help onboard new clinicians.
  • Minimum standards for the label include a guaranteed doctor and nurse, no extra billing, opening at least five days a week, and accepting patients referred by the 15/service d’accès aux soins.
  • The government targets 15–20 labeled sites per department by Christmas, 2,000 by summer 2026, and 5,000 by 2027.
  • Eligible locations include existing maisons de santé and centres de santé, with pharmacies qualifying in rural areas where they are the sole healthcare presence.
