France Announces 2% Minimum Wage Increase Starting November 1

The move aims to support the purchasing power of low-income workers amid rising inflation concerns.

The new decree raises the hourly minimum wage to €11.88 in most regions, translating to a monthly salary of €1,801.80 for a 35-hour workweek.
In Mayotte, the hourly minimum wage will be €8.98, resulting in a monthly salary of €1,361.97 for the same workweek duration.
This anticipatory adjustment is based on inflation forecasts and aligns with the annual revaluation formula for the minimum wage.
As of January 2023, 17.3% of French employees earn the minimum wage, highlighting its widespread impact.
The government has not provided an additional discretionary increase, known as a 'coup de pouce,' since 2012.
