This was the 19th time Jones has retired mid-match in her career and the second time this year, raising concerns about player health and recovery time in professional tennis.
Her collapse followed a quick turnaround after winning her eighth career title in Brazil, with high-altitude conditions in Bogota potentially exacerbating her physical struggles.
