Fran Brown Appointed as Syracuse Football's New Head Coach

Former Georgia defensive backs coach, known for his strong recruiting skills, takes over from Dino Babers.

Syracuse University has hired Georgia defensive backs coach Fran Brown as its new head football coach.
Brown, a native of Camden, New Jersey, is known for his strong recruiting abilities and has helped Georgia secure the No. 1 class for 2024.
Prior to joining Georgia, Brown had coaching stints at Rutgers, Baylor, and Temple, and played collegiately at Western Carolina before spending two seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals at the NFL level.
Brown takes over from Dino Babers, who was fired by Syracuse earlier this month after eight seasons with the program.
Syracuse is hopeful that Brown's recruiting skills and ties in the Northeast will boost the program's performance, which has been hovering around .500 in recent years.
