FPSC Announces CSS 2026 Written Results: 476 Candidates Advance

Low pass rates deepen competition for federal posts with candidates awaiting medical, psychological and interview schedules.

Overview

  • The Federal Public Service Commission published the written-stage list on Monday, August 31, 2026, showing 476 candidates passed out of 16,342 who appeared in all papers for a 2.74% success rate.
  • The successful pool is almost evenly split by gender with 239 men and 237 women named on the FPSC list.
  • The CSS 2026 cycle began with a Multiple Choice Preliminary Test that drew 63,368 applicants, of whom 43,189 appeared and 36,758 qualified for the written stage before 24,321 formally applied for the full exam.
  • Candidates who cleared the written papers must still complete medical exams, psychological assessments and viva voce interviews and the FPSC has said schedules for those stages will be announced later.
  • The result closes the written phase of Pakistan’s main federal civil-service selection process and highlights how the multi-stage system narrows large applicant pools to a small group that will face further screening before final appointments.
