Nielsen data show Fox News dominating primetime audiences over broadcast networks as CNN records its worst week of the year

Overview

  • Fox News averaged 2.7 million weekday primetime viewers from May 26–30, outpacing NBC and CBS (2.4 million each) and ABC (2.3 million).
  • The network claimed 68 percent of the cable news primetime share and secured 14 of the top 15 most-watched shows, led by The Five with 3.654 million viewers.
  • CNN plunged to its lowest week of 2025, drawing just 374,000 primetime and 308,000 total-day viewers while slipping further in the adults 25–54 demographic.
  • MSNBC was the only cable news network to post gains among adults 25–54, rising 8 percent in primetime and 4 percent in total-day viewing during the May 26–30 period.
  • Reruns of Real Time with Bill Maher were CNN’s top draw on Saturday, and on June 3 Abby Phillip’s NewsNight led the network in both overall viewers and the demo.
