Overview
- Sources reported Friday night that Fox has removed Dave Portnoy and other Barstool on-site personalities from its Saturday pregame show Big Noon Kickoff.
- People familiar with the decision told reporters the core issue was a persistent mismatch between Barstool’s outspoken persona and Big Noon Kickoff’s established television desk format.
- Dave Portnoy responded on X by blaming Ohio State and coach Ryan Day for pressuring the Big Ten and Fox, a claim Fox has not publicly confirmed.
- Fox and Barstool’s wider deal appears intact because Wake‑Up Barstool will continue on FS1 and the companies may keep exploring other collaborations.
- The move ends a year-plus experiment that began with a July 2025 partnership and highlights how rights-holder access, rivalry tensions, and commercial risks can shape who appears on network college broadcasts.
