Fourth Child Dies in St. Paul House Fire, Death Toll Rises to Four

Mother and Two Other Children Continue to Recover as Investigation into Accidental Fire Continues

A fourth child, 1-year-old Mauj CagTxuj Vaj, has died from injuries sustained in a house fire in St. Paul, Minnesota, bringing the death toll to four.
The fire, which broke out on January 3, 2024, in the Payne-Phalen neighborhood, also claimed the lives of 5-year-old twin girls and a 4-year-old boy.
The children's mother, Ker Lor, and two other children were also injured in the fire and are currently hospitalized.
The fire was accidental and started in a living room on the main floor, blocking the occupants' escape route. The cause remains under investigation.
The home had working smoke detectors at the time of the fire.
