Overview

• Four migrant labourers from Uttar Pradesh—Sanjeev Pal, Himanshu Singh, Rohit Pal and Arpit Yadav—died of toxic gas inhalation after being sent into a 10-foot-deep septic tank at Achal Jewels Private Limited in Sitapura Industrial Area.
• Two colleagues, Ajay Chauhan and Rajpal, remain in critical condition at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital while two others have been discharged following primary treatment.
• Police say the workers initially refused to enter the tank due to extreme heat and poisonous fumes but agreed when promised extra pay and were provided no safety equipment.
