Four Teenagers Drown in Ulhas River After Holi Celebrations in Maharashtra

The students, aged 15-16, drowned while washing off Holi colors in a dangerous stretch of the river in Badlapur, Thane district.

The victims, Aryan Medar, Siddharth Singh, Aryan Singh, and Omsingh Tomar, were Class 10 students from Poddar Housing Complex in Badlapur.
The incident occurred when one boy began to drown, prompting three others to attempt a rescue; all four were swept away in the river's deep waters.
The group of eight boys had been celebrating Holi and went to the river about 500 meters from their housing society to wash off colors.
Local laborers and the fire brigade recovered the bodies after a two-hour search; the students were pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
The stretch of the river where the tragedy occurred is known for its sudden depth changes and lack of safety measures, leaving the boys unprepared for the danger.
