Overview

• The victim remains in Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition after a single stab wound to the back.
• Emergency services were called to Ridgewood Park around 5.05pm on Sunday, and an air ambulance and ambulances attended the scene.
• Merseyside Police arrested two 13-year-old boys, a 13-year-old girl, and a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of section 18 wounding.
• The 13-year-old girl is also held on suspicion of assisting an offender, and all four teenagers remain in custody for questioning.
• Officers continue forensic and CCTV enquiries, have carried out door-to-door checks, and are urging residents to review CCTV and dashcam footage as part of wider efforts to tackle knife crime.
