Four Police Killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as Bajaur Post Attack Triggers Security Sweep

Officials launched searches following the latest police killings with patrols heightened across vulnerable districts.

  • Three on-duty traffic police officials — Naurang Jalal Khan, Azizullah and Abdullah — were fatally shot in Lakki Marwat, with attackers fleeing before police cordoned the area and began a search.
  • In a separate incident in Bannu, Constable Rasheed Khan was killed by unidentified motorcyclists near Mandan Police Station, bringing the toll to four officers in a few hours.
  • Hours earlier in Bajaur’s Barang tehsil, a 2am assault on a police post killed local resident Naseem Gul and injured Constables Suliman Khan and Saz Muhammad as well as a school watchman.
  • Police said militants used heavy and light weapons in the Bajaur attack, the injured were reported stable at the Khar district hospital, and a joint security team conducted a clearance operation.
  • Authorities are investigating the assailants’ identities and possible group links as independent data show 699 militant attacks in 2025 with 1,034 deaths and 1,366 injured nationwide.
