Four Pepperdine Students Killed in Malibu Highway Crash

Four Pepperdine Seniors Killed by Speeding Driver

  • Four senior students at Pepperdine University, Niamh Rolston, Peyton Stewart, Asha Weir and Deslyn Williams, were killed on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California, by a car driven by 22-year-old Fraser Bohm.
  • The students were standing next to parked vehicles along the highway when Bohm, reportedly speeding, lost control and crashed into the vehicles causing them to hit the students.
  • Bohm was arrested for vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence but was later released pending further investigation into whether he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the incident.
  • The incident occurred on a treacherous stretch of the highway known as 'Dead Man’s Curve', which has seen a number of fatalities in recent years.
  • The victims were all members of the Alpha Phi sorority and were due to graduate at the end of the academic year. The university indicated that the students may receive posthumous degrees.
