Four Oklahoma State Fraternity Members Arrested for Unlawful Disposal of Dead Longhorn

The incident, part of an ongoing prank war, occurred the day before the Big 12 championship football game.

  • Four students from the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity at Oklahoma State University have been arrested and charged with misdemeanor for unlawful disposal of a carcass. The students are Luke Ackerley, Bennet Fady, Andrew King, and Brody Shelby.
  • The charges come after a dead longhorn was found on the lawn of the FarmHouse fraternity, a rival fraternity at Oklahoma State, on December 1, 2024, the day before the Big 12 championship football game between the Oklahoma State Cowboys and the University of Texas Longhorns.
  • The longhorn, which was found to have died from a natural disease process 36 hours prior to being found, was branded with obscenities referencing the FarmHouse fraternity and had a large cut on its abdomen.
  • The incident is believed to be part of an ongoing prank war between the two fraternities. The four students accused of the crime have pleaded not guilty and have been released on their own recognizance.
  • Despite some missing surveillance footage from the time of the incident, investigators were able to identify the suspects through interviews with other fraternity members and a search warrant served at the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity house.
