Four migrants, including infant, drown crossing Rio Grande in Eagle Pass

Four migrants drowned in the Rio Grande River near Eagle Pass, Texas over the weekend, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.A woman and infant girl were found unresponsive on Saturday and later pronounced dead.
The identities of the four deceased individuals are unknown as they did not possess any identifying documents.
The area where the bodies were recovered is known for dangerous conditions like steep banks and strong currents.
Texas officials plan to install floating barriers in parts of the river to deter unlawful border crossings.
There have been over 700 known migrant deaths along the U.S.-Mexico border so far this year, making 2022 the deadliest year on record.
