Four Men Stand Trial in Berlin for Nationwide Gas Station Safe Thefts

The accused face charges of organized theft involving over €160,000 stolen in multiple break-ins across Germany.

Four men aged 24 to 37 are accused of stealing safes from gas stations in a series of organized crimes across Germany.
The Berlin trial focuses on two specific thefts: €65,000 stolen in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in November 2023 and €95,000 stolen in Rheinland-Pfalz in April 2024.
The crimes involved breaking into gas stations using hydraulic spreaders to force open doors and remove safes from their foundations.
Two of the accused have been in custody since September 2024 after being arrested during apartment searches in Berlin.
The trial is expected to continue until March 11, with additional charges against one of the accused likely to be included in the ongoing proceedings.
