Four Lawyers Arrested in Manaus Over Alleged Role as Comando Vermelho Operatives

• Federal Police carried out four preventive arrests and five searches in Manaus under Operação Roque, an offshoot of Operação Xeque-Mate authorized by the Federal Court of Amazonas.

• Case files cite WhatsApp exchanges with CV leader Alan Sérgio Martins Batista, known as Índio or Sangue Azul, including a message about a truce with the PCC and discussions about smuggling drugs into prisons and using lawyers’ accounts for funds.
• Agents seized cash, phones, documents, computers and a car, while defense counsel reports no access to case files and denies faction membership, and OAB-AM says it is probing possible violations of lawyer prerogatives.
