Four Labourers Die of Suffocation in Mumbai Water Tank Incident

Two supervisors arrested for negligence after workers were sent into an underground tank without safety equipment at an under-construction building.

  • Four workers—aged between 19 and 38—died from suffocation while cleaning an underground water tank; a fifth worker survived and is hospitalized.

  • The JJ Marg police have arrested two supervisors, a labour contractor and a building contractor, for failing to provide safety equipment and conducting prior inspections.
