Four Killed, 14 Injured in River North Drive-By Shooting; Suspects Remain at Large

No arrests have been made in the aftermath of Chicago’s worst River North nightclub shooting since 2022

Overview

  • Police say a dark-colored vehicle opened fire on a crowd outside Artis Lounge shortly after 11 p.m. on July 2 during rapper Mello Buckzz’s album release event.
  • The attack left two men and two women dead and 14 others struck by gunfire, most victims in their twenties and thirties.
  • Investigators recovered more than 20 shell casings and a firearm from the scene but have yet to identify or apprehend any suspects.
  • Artis Lounge remains closed pending a safety review as law enforcement examines surveillance footage and interviews witnesses.
