Four Fort Bend ISD Students Arrested in Missouri City Walmart Killing

Detectives say new evidence led to campus arrests after the Oct. 27 robbery that killed Jeremy Williams.

Overview

  • Missouri City police obtained warrants and took four teens into custody in connection with the fatal parking-lot shooting at the Walmart on Highway 6.
  • Investigators identified the suspects as 18-year-old Jordan Dao, 17-year-old Zaphaniah Collier, 17-year-old Chris Williams, and a juvenile, all students at Travis High School.
  • Dao was previously detained on Oct. 28 on a weapons charge and bonded out, then was rearrested after investigators gathered enough evidence to charge him with murder.
  • All four were arrested at their schools without incident as Fort Bend ISD coordinated with police, and Travis High School was briefly placed on a Secure Hold with no danger reported on campus.
  • Police said the victim, 22-year-old Jeremy Williams of Manvel, was found in a car and later pronounced dead, and a 2-year-old girl in the backseat was unharmed as the suspects were being booked and expected to face murder charges.
