Overview

• Firefighters arrived at the 200 block of South Queen Anne Road around 7:51 a.m. to find a fully engulfed two-story house and brought the blaze under control in about 90 minutes.
• Four dogs were rescued through a basement exit after suffering smoke inhalation and minor burns and are now reported in good health.
• Six dogs believed to have been on the upper level remain unaccounted for as search efforts continue in the wreckage.
• An estimated 15 fire and rescue agencies joined the coordinated response before crews cleared the scene shortly after noon.
• The home and its contents were declared a total loss and American Red Cross personnel are assisting the homeowners during the ongoing investigation.
