Overview

• Police said Sheik Munni, her young son, and neighbour Vangal Ganesh drowned when a stone slab over a drain collapsed in S.N./SM Colony during Friday night’s downpour.
• In a separate incident near the DIET College/Four Taps area, an autorickshaw carrying seven children was caught in floodwater; six were rescued and eight-year-old Yamini was later found dead.
• All four bodies were recovered, and police registered cases linked to the deaths as investigations proceed.
• Transport Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy visited the bereaved families and delivered ₹5 lakh per victim from the State, with an additional ₹1 lakh from the Mandipalli Nagireddy Trust.
