Four Dead, Seven Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving Charter Bus in Washington

A high-speed passing attempt on a two-lane highway led to a fatal collision involving a car, a charter bus, and another vehicle in Douglas County.

The crash occurred Sunday afternoon on State Route 28 near Wenatchee, Washington, when a car attempted to pass another vehicle at high speed and collided head-on with a charter bus.
Four people were killed, including the 17-year-old driver and passenger of the car, the 66-year-old charter bus driver, and a bus passenger who died later at the hospital.
Seven bus passengers, ranging in age from 24 to 71, sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
The car also struck the vehicle it was attempting to pass, which carried a driver and two children, though no one in that vehicle was injured.
The crash is under investigation by Washington State Patrol’s Major Accident Investigation Team, with the bus company cooperating to determine further details.
