Four CONCACAF Nations Launch Joint Bid to Host Expanded 2031 Women’s World Cup

The bid now moves into FIFA’s process toward a host vote scheduled for April 30, 2026 in Vancouver.

Overview

  • The soccer federations of the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica and Jamaica formally unveiled their coordinated candidacy on Oct. 20, 2025.
  • Officials said the consortium will submit its official bid book to FIFA in November 2025.
  • FIFA approved in May 2025 an expansion to 48 teams with 12 groups, increasing total matches from 64 to 104.
  • U.S. Soccer president Cindy Parlow Cone said the U.S. is proud to lead the effort and emphasized building a lasting legacy for the women’s game.
  • If selected, Jamaica and Costa Rica would be first-time hosts, the U.S. would add to its 1999 and 2003 editions, and Mexico would host the women’s tournament for the first time as the region builds on cooperation seen for the 2026 men’s World Cup.
