Overview
- DuPage County prosecutors charged Monroe Shivers with burglary, theft, retail theft and aggravated fleeing, while Cortney Shivers, Ronnie Hardy and Jeremiah Brown face counts of burglary, theft, retail theft and resisting a police officer.
- A judge ordered Monroe Shivers to remain in pretrial custody as the three co-defendants were released pending trial, with a next court date set for Feb. 23.
- Officers responding around 3:30 a.m. to reports of suspicious vehicles interrupted the burglary, pursued two fleeing cars, boxed in one near the train depot and recovered merchandise from the stopped vehicle.
- Store surveillance captured masked individuals rushing in and stuffing luxury purses, jewelry, wallets, handbags, shoes and sunglasses into black garbage bags brought to the scene.
- Four additional suspects remain at large as Hinsdale police work to identify and locate them, after three arrests were made immediately at the scene and a fourth suspect, Jeremiah Brown, was found later that morning.
