Four Bronx Shootings in Eight Hours Leave Two Dead, Amazon Driver Wounded

Police have active investigations under way with suspects at large, including in a Brooklyn neighbor‑dispute shooting.

Overview

  • Police say a 32-year-old man was fatally shot around 8:10 a.m. outside 1853 Anthony Avenue in Tremont, with the gunman described as about 50 years old wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and blue sneakers.
  • A 34-year-old man was killed around 1:10 p.m. near 710 Croes Avenue in Soundview; two suspects fled on foot, including one seen in a gray hoodie with a gray-and-red backpack bearing a shark-mouth graphic.
  • A 31-year-old Amazon delivery driver was shot in the ankle near East Tremont and Bryant avenues around 2:37 p.m. and is stable, and Amazon says it is cooperating with the NYPD.
  • About an hour later, a 26-year-old man was shot in the leg on Adams Place near East 182nd–183rd streets in Belmont and is expected to survive, with a suspect last seen in a green hoodie and gray pants.
  • In separate incidents, a 49-year-old woman was shot inside a Prospect Heights apartment building after an alleged neighbor dispute and a 32-year-old woman was killed in a Bronx hit-and-run on Bruckner Boulevard, with both suspects still sought.
