Four Bronx Shootings in Eight Hours Leave 2 Dead, Amazon Driver Wounded as Police Probe

Overview

  • Police reported at least four separate shootings across the Bronx on Tuesday, including two homicides in Tremont and Soundview hours apart.
  • Just after 8 a.m., a 32-year-old man was shot in the back on Anthony Avenue and later pronounced dead; around 1 p.m., a 34-year-old man was fatally shot on Croes Avenue.
  • Around 2:37 p.m. in West Farms, a 31-year-old Amazon delivery driver was shot in the ankle near East Tremont and Bryant avenues and taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.
  • Investigators documented a bullet hole and a shell casing in the driver’s van, and police are seeking two suspects who fled on foot, with one described as dressed in all black.
  • About 3:30 p.m. in Belmont, a 26-year-old man was shot twice in the leg on Adams Place and was expected to survive, as the NYPD said no arrests have been made and urged tips to Crime Stoppers.
