Four Arrested, One Wanted in $2M Ontario Bank Heist Operation

The coordinated robbery spree across Ontario spanned nearly two years, with suspects facing 53 charges.

Ontario Provincial Police have arrested four men and are searching for a fifth suspect in connection with eight bank robberies.
The robberies, which took place from December 2022 to March 2024, resulted in over $2 million being stolen.
The suspects used disguises and firearms to intimidate bank occupants, often binding employees during the heists.
A multi-jurisdictional task force, dubbed Project Opal, was instrumental in connecting the robberies and apprehending the suspects.
Despite the arrests, the stolen funds have not been recovered, and one suspect remains at large with multiple charges pending.
