- Four young Syrians, aged between 17 and 21, have been arrested in Cyprus under suspicion of setting off a small explosive device near the Israeli Embassy in the capital, Nicosia.
- The explosion caused no damage or injuries and took place approximately 30 meters away from the embassy; however, it has led to the tightening of security across the European Union.
- The suspects face charges, including attempted destruction of property with explosives, possession and use of explosives, and possession of a knife.
- Authorities did not clarify if the incident was connected to the ongoing war in Gaza, following a Hamas attack on Israel earlier in October.
- Two of the suspects were seen walking near the explosion site, while the other two were found in a nearby parked car alongside two knives and a hammer.
