Four Arrested in Cyprus Following Small Explosion Near Israeli Embassy

Four Syrian suspects aged between 17 and 21 face charges of attempted destruction of property and possession of explosives with minor explosion happening 30 meters from Israeli Embassy in Nicosia; no damage or injuries reported.

Four young Syrians, aged between 17 and 21, have been arrested in Cyprus under suspicion of setting off a small explosive device near the Israeli Embassy in the capital, Nicosia.
The explosion caused no damage or injuries and took place approximately 30 meters away from the embassy; however, it has led to the tightening of security across the European Union.
The suspects face charges, including attempted destruction of property with explosives, possession and use of explosives, and possession of a knife.
Authorities did not clarify if the incident was connected to the ongoing war in Gaza, following a Hamas attack on Israel earlier in October.
Two of the suspects were seen walking near the explosion site, while the other two were found in a nearby parked car alongside two knives and a hammer.
