Overview

• The arrests followed reports at around 11:10 a.m. on Strand Road of a group in a vehicle allegedly carrying a firearm.
• Two 17-year-old boys, an 18-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man are currently held on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm.
• Firearms officers were deployed immediately and detained the four individuals without incident.
• Cumbria Police advised that inquiries are ongoing, noting residents may notice an increased presence in the area.
• Carlisle College and Trinity School, located nearby, were not affected, with no evidence of any wider security risk.
