Overview

• Four men aged 46, 27, 25 and 22 were arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and have been released on conditional bail.
• The fire at about 9:50pm on Saturday badly damaged the mosque’s frontage and a nearby vehicle, and the two people inside escaped uninjured.
• Police say video evidence shows two masked individuals spraying an accelerant at the entrance before igniting the blaze.
• DCI Mark Cullimore said inquiries include house-to-house work, forensic examinations and intelligence gathering, and urged anyone with information to call 101 quoting Operation Spey.
