Foster Farms Recalls Nearly 4 Million Pounds of Chicken Corn Dogs Over Wood Contamination

The action follows a larger Hillshire Brands recall days earlier involving similar wood contamination in stick products.

Overview

  • FSIS announced Saturday that Foster Poultry Farms is recalling 3,843,040 pounds across 16 chicken corn dog varieties.
  • The affected items were produced from July 30, 2024, through Aug. 4, 2025, and display establishment number P-6137B on the packaging.
  • Multiple consumer complaints prompted the action, including at least five reported injuries involving pieces of wood in the batter.
  • Products were distributed nationwide to retailers and institutions, including the Department of Defense and USDA Commodity Foods, with some sold to schools outside the National School Lunch Program.
  • FSIS advises consumers and institutions not to eat the products and to discard or return them, and anyone concerned about injury should contact a healthcare provider.
