Foster Farms Recalls 3.8 Million Pounds of Chicken Corn Dogs Over Wood Contamination

FSIS urges consumers to discard or return affected products.

Overview

  • At least five injuries were reported after multiple complaints about pieces of wood embedded in the batter of the chicken corn dog products.
  • The recalled items were produced from July 30, 2024, through August 4, 2025, and can be identified by establishment number P-6137B on the package or inside the USDA mark of inspection.
  • Shipments went to retailers and institutional buyers nationwide, including Department of Defense facilities and USDA Commodity Foods, with some products reaching schools through commercial sales rather than the National School Lunch Program.
  • Consumers and institutions should not consume the products and are advised to throw them away or return them; anyone concerned about injury should consult a healthcare provider.
  • FSIS will conduct recall-effectiveness checks and post retail distribution lists, and this action follows a separate Hillshire Brands recall of about 58 million pounds of corn dog and sausage-on-a-stick products for similar wood contamination.
