Fortnite Crew Hits Game Pass Ultimate as Xbox PC Launch Stumbles

Subscribers must link Xbox and Epic accounts to redeem benefits, with existing Crew memberships on Xbox canceled during the switch.

Overview

  • The perk went live on November 18 and matches the standalone Crew benefits, including the current Battle, OG, LEGO and Music passes, a monthly Crew skin, Rocket League Rocket Pass Premium and 1,000 V-Bucks.
  • Fortnite also debuted on the Xbox PC app via Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing cross-progression and removing the need to use the Epic Games Launcher.
  • Many users reported crashes, installation errors and performance problems with Fortnite on the Xbox PC Store and supported handhelds, and reports indicated fixes were being worked on after launch.
  • Game Pass Ultimate now costs $30 per month, reframing the value of the added Fortnite Crew inclusion relative to the recent price increase.
  • Claiming the perk requires signing in on an Xbox-supported platform with linked accounts, and standalone Fortnite Crew remains available regionally for those not on Ultimate.
