Fortaleza’s Festival Season Peaks as Circus Opens, Dance Biennial Concludes, Residencies and Sellouts Boost Demand

Overview

  • The 11th Festival Internacional de Circo do Ceará opened on Oct. 31 at Centro Cultural Belchior with free entry and runs through Nov. 15 across Fortaleza, Aquiraz, Paracuru, Itapipoca and Aracati.
  • The XV Bienal Internacional de Dança do Ceará closes on Nov. 1 after routing through eight cities with 30 spectacles, about 45 performances, workshops and formative activities.
  • Singer Melly is in residence at Caixa Cultural Fortaleza from Oct. 31 to Nov. 8 with tickets available online and at the venue box office.
  • Eurodance group Double You performed in Fortaleza on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at Pub 5 Elementos, with the Saturday date sold out.
  • Gilberto Gil’s ‘Tempo Rei’ farewell tour arrives for two shows on Nov. 15 and 16, with the first date sold out and tickets still available for the added date.
