Formula 1 Unveils 2026 Calendar Featuring Madrid Debut and Six Sprint Weekends

Overview

  • The 24-race season opens on 6 March in Melbourne and is slated to finish in Abu Dhabi in early December, with reports citing either 4 or 6 December for the finale.
  • Madrid joins the schedule on 11–13 September, giving Spain two rounds alongside Barcelona and closing the European leg.
  • Six sprint weekends are planned, with sprint formats scheduled for China, Miami, Canada, Silverstone, Zandvoort and Singapore.
  • Preseason runs in three blocks: a private shakedown in Barcelona on 26–30 January, followed by official Bahrain tests on 11–13 and 18–20 February.
  • Bahrain and Saudi Arabia shift to April to account for Ramadan, while Europe begins in Monaco in early June before the series heads to Madrid.
