Former White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain is set to join Airbnb as its chief legal officer, starting January 1, 2024.
Klain, who served as President Biden’s chief of staff during his first two years in office, is known for his strategic thinking and operational skills.
Before joining Airbnb, Klain was a partner at the law firm O'Melveny & Myers and has previously served as chief legal officer at venture capital firm Revolution.
Klain's appointment follows a trend of Airbnb hiring former senior government officials, with Jay Carney, former White House press secretary under President Obama, joining as the head of policy in 2022.
Klain will succeed Rich Baer, who joined Airbnb as legal chief in 2019 and announced his retirement last month.
