As part of his work for GB News, Johnson will host a series showcasing Britain's power around the world, prominently arguing for the nation's best days being ahead.
The Advisory Committee on Business Appointments (Acoba) has said that Johnson's appointment was within government rules, but he will have to follow conditions, such as not lobbying the government on behalf of GB News for two years.
Johnson's presence on GB News is expected to provide a significant ratings boost, despite the channel currently being investigated by media regulator Ofcom due to a controversial incident on the Dan Wootton Tonight show.
