Overview

  • District Judge Rhys Williams imposed a 12-month community order to be served over 12 days, a £1,264 fine and a one-year restraining order barring Wallis from contacting her ex-wife.
  • Wallis pleaded guilty in June to sending four abusive messages and one voice note to Rebecca Lovell after stalking allegations were dropped.
  • In the messages, the former MP used derogatory terms including “c***” and “f****** bitch” and demanded £350,000 be transferred within 15 minutes.
  • Rebecca Lovell’s victim impact statement described living in a constant state of fear and having her sense of self “destroyed,” prompting her to install CCTV for protection.
  • Defence counsel Narita Bahra KC told the court that Wallis was suffering from PTSD, a depressive disorder and an adjustment disorder related to her gender transition at the time of the offences.
