Former Track Star Shelby Daniele Dies at 23

Cal Poly alumna and record-holder Shelby Daniele passed away, with the cause of death yet to be disclosed.

Shelby Daniele, a former standout sprinter for California Polytechnic State University, died on Wednesday at the age of 23.
Daniele was a six-time All-Big West honoree, two-time Big West champion, and held the school record for the indoor 200-meter race.
She recently graduated with a master's degree in agriculture and was known for her dedication to improving the environment.
Daniele was remembered by coaches and teammates as an exceptional athlete, a caring leader, and a role model.
A candlelight memorial service was held in her honor at Buchanan High School, where she had also excelled in track.
