Former Tennis Star Arantxa Sanchez Vicario Found Guilty of Fraud

Sanchez Vicario and Ex-Husband Ordered to Pay 6.6 Million Euro Fine

Former world No. 1 tennis player Arantxa Sanchez Vicario and her ex-husband, Josep Santacana, have been found guilty of fraud by a court in Barcelona.
The court found that the pair had concealed assets to evade payment of a multi-million euro debt owed to Banque de Luxembourg.
Sanchez Vicario received a two-year prison sentence, which was waived due to her being a first-time offender, sparing her from any jail time.
Santacana was sentenced to three years and three months in prison.
The former couple is also required to pay a fine of 6.6 million euros ($7.1 million).
