Former St. Louis-area Officer Faces New Charges for Assaulting 19 Men

A superseding indictment has expanded the charges against Marcellis Blackwell, now accused of assaulting 19 men while in custody.

Marcellis Blackwell, a former St. Louis-area police officer, is accused of sexually assaulting 19 men between November 2022 and June 2023.
The 36-count superseding indictment includes 19 counts of deprivation of rights under color of law and 17 counts of altering records in a federal investigation.
Blackwell allegedly assaulted the men while they were detained, restrained, or under arrest, with one victim reportedly sodomized.
Previously charged with assaulting eight men, the new indictment brings additional victims to light, totaling 19.
The FBI has established a hotline for potential victims as the investigation continues.
