- Jones was hit around 2 a.m. Sunday and pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a Toyota RAV4 near the Centinela Avenue off-ramp of the 90 Freeway.
- The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office attributed his death to blunt traumatic injuries sustained in the collision.
- During his San Jose State career from 2010 to 2013, Jones set school records with 248 receptions and 29 touchdown catches and earned first-team All-Mountain West honors in 2013.
