Overview

• Jones was hit around 2 a.m. Sunday and pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a Toyota RAV4 near the Centinela Avenue off-ramp of the 90 Freeway.
• The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office attributed his death to blunt traumatic injuries sustained in the collision.
• During his San Jose State career from 2010 to 2013, Jones set school records with 248 receptions and 29 touchdown catches and earned first-team All-Mountain West honors in 2013.
• He spent time on the practice squads of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Indianapolis Colts and Cleveland Browns before coaching at San Jose State (2017–2019) and serving as assistant defensive backs coach for the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes (2023–2024).
